Catalytic oxidation of CO and o-DCB over CuO/CeO2 catalysts supported on hierarchically porous silica

2011
Abstract The CuO/CeO 2 catalysts supported on hierarchically porous silica were prepared by sol–gel and multi-hydrothermal processes. The samples were characterized by TG–DTA, N 2 adsorption–desorption, SEM, XPS and XRD. The hierarchically porous silica supported with CuO and CeO 2 still retained mesoporous and through-macroporous structure. The catalysts showed much better catalytic activity than the CuO/HPS, CeO 2 /HPS and CuO/CeO 2 for CO and o -DCB oxidation, and the HPS-4 was more satisfying, with the 100% conversion of CO at 110 °C and 98.8% conversion of o -DCB at 500 °C.
