The present invention discloses a method for preparing a titanium alloy slab. The method comprises the steps of: providing a titanium alloy ingots and vacuum consumable arc furnace, the alloy ingot was melted in a consumable arc vacuum; blooming an ingot to be formed sequentially, the primary forging stock to be forging the forging blank at the β transformation point after forging said forging stock to be heated, and forging the forging blank to be rotated by 90 ° in the axial plane formed by laterally extending slab to be forged on forging deformation quick forging machine ; the β transformation point after heating the slab to be forged, and the forged slab to be rotated by 90 ° in the axial plane formed by the longitudinal extension of the finished slab in the fast deformation forging forging machine. According to the present method for producing large size high-performance titanium alloy slab, small size compared with the conventional forging techniques slab, billet unit weight and a substantial increase in width, microstructure uniformity, and can meet the requirements of high performance thick rolled plate.
