If you want to become a good writer, then you must be able to edit; this chapter thus follows on from the last chapter that teaches you how to write your first draft. Here, I will show you how can edit your first draft in order to come up with a polished, final version. A key step before proceeding with the editing process is to allow your first draft to marinate, i.e. leaving it alone for at least a week. This marinating stage is crucial, to allow you to edit with a fresh pair of eyes. I will give you practical guidelines on how you can make the relevant changes to your first draft, in order to come up with your final version.
