How to Edit

2019
If you want to become a good writer, then you must be able to edit; this chapter thus follows on from the last chapter that teaches you how to write your first draft. Here, I will show you how can edit your first draft in order to come up with a polished, final version. A key step before proceeding with the editing process is to allow your first draft to marinate, i.e. leaving it alone for at least a week. This marinating stage is crucial, to allow you to edit with a fresh pair of eyes. I will give you practical guidelines on how you can make the relevant changes to your first draft, in order to come up with your final version. In order to do this effectively, you will need to edit for: 1. Structure and content 2. Style and readability 3. Spelling and grammar
