A method of operating an intermittently operated vehicle engine

A temporary increase an amount of fuel (KFS) at the start of an engine is controlled on the basis of an estimated amount of fuel (Kfr) which adhered to the periphery of inlet ports at the start of the engine. If the engine is restarted after being stopped, the increase of the amount of fuel (KFS) is reduced by a correction amount (C2) is gradually reduced as time elapses.
