Design features of the new multi isotope AMS beamline at CEDAD

2013
Abstract We present the general layout and the design features of the new beam line at CEDAD (Centre for Dating and Diagnostics) of the University of Salento, Italy, dedicated to the analysis of the rare isotope 10 Be optimized for the 10 B isobar suppression using the passive degrader in combination with a high resolution gas ionization detector. The layout of the beam line will also offer the possibility to analyze 26 Al, 129 I and actinide isotopes. The ion optics simulations, the characteristics of the dispersive elements, the detection and control systems are presented together with the expected performances.
