Measurement and Analysis of 98Mo(n,γ)99Mo Reaction Cross Section

1992
Neutron capture cross sections of 98Mo have been measured relative to that of 197Au for neutron energy from 29 to 1100 KeV, using the activation method. Neutrons were generated via the 7Li(p,n)7Be and T(p,n) 3He reactions with a 2.5 MV Van de Graaff accelerator at Sichuan University. Neutron energy selection was achieved by choice of angle of neutron emission with respect to the incident proton beam. The activities after irradiation were measured with a calibrated high resolution HPGe detector The accuracy of the measurement is 7.1 to 8.7%. The experimental results were compared with existing data.
