Beals Syndrome with Tricuspid and Mitral Regurgitation-A Case Report-

1985
A four-month-old male infant with multiple joint contractures and marked arachnodactyly and long, thin feet since birth was presented. Doppler echocardiograms revealed mitral and tricuspid valve prolapse with mitral and tricuspid regurgitation. At autopsy, the tricuspid and mitral valves were irregular and redundant in appearance. Microscopic examination of the mitral and tricuspid valves showed myxomatous transformation of the valve leaflets. This paper reports a single case with classic manifestations and briefly reviews the literature and discusses differential diagnoses.
