Twist-beam rear suspension

2005
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a torsion beam type suspension structured so that the open end face at the tail of a trailing arm is formed as a cut surface crossing aslant the arm axis and subjected to butt welding to the body of a spindle supporting plate, capable of thinning the spindle supporting plate to a great extent and reducing the weight and the cost while the influence of the welding heat strain is suppressed. SOLUTION: A front bent flange 13F extending ahead along a tail outer side face of the trailing arm 10 and with the front edge welded w3 to the tail outer side face is installed continuously to the front end of the body 13M of the spindle supporting plate 13 while a rear bent flange 13R engaged with the tail edge of the trailing arm 10 and welded w4 thereto is installed continuously to the tail of the plate body 13M, and a spindle base board 14b is overlapped on and attached fast w2 to the outer side face of the plate body 13M, and four threaded holes Sfu, Sfd, Sru, Srd for coupling by bolts a plate-form component P associated with the brake to the spindle base board 14b are provided around the spindle axis in front and in the rear thereof and to its left and right.
