KERJASAMA REGIONAL ASEAN DALAM PENANGGULANGAN KEJAHATAN TERORISME

2021
Terrorism is a form of Transnational Carime. In facing the threat that comes from the crime of terrorism in the Southeast Asian region, ASEAN (including Indonesia) have formed a regulation called the ASEAN Convention on Counter Terrorism 2007 (ACCT). Basically ACCT is a convention which contains elements of the Global War on Terror (GWOT), which the United States calls it. More deeply, ACCT contains the rules about how ASEAN prevent and overcome terrorism crimes. The issues that will be discussed in this thesis are how to apply the principles of GWOT in ACCT 2007 as a step to tackle terrorism crimes in Indonesia and what steps that Indonesia has to take in order to prevent terrorism crimes in the ASEAN region. The type of research that used in this thesis is Normative Research. The legal sources were obtained through literature study which was analyzed by descriptive qualitative research. The result of this thesis is that Indonesia is a country that does not apply the GWOT principles in ACCT 2007 in a firm, full, and comprehensive manner. So that in its implementation, Indonesia has to be more open and apply some strict regulations for the prevention of terrorism crimes in the country.
