Single-Feed Reflectarray Antenna with Eight Beams for Satellite Communications

Reflectarray antenna can achieve contoured multi-beam patterns by controlling the phase distribution of the reflectarray. In this paper, a single-feed K-band reflectarray antenna with eight beams pointing to different directions is achieved by the alternating projection method (APM). The proposed reflectarray antenna contains 344 elements which are printed on a single-layer substrate. Both the calculation results and simulation results demonstrate that the proposed antenna can generate eight beams with acceptable side-lobe level.
