A Chair Having A Customisable Back Support

A chair (1, figure 1) having a back support pad (12) which has a curved surface (12a) which matches elongated S-shaped curve of a specific user's spine. The back support pad comprises a plurality of segments (16) assembled in an abutting relationship, each segment (16) corresponding to a pre-determined portion of the specific user's back. The chair (1) is accompanied with a kit of segments (16) in which for each pre-determined portion of the curved surface of the back support pad, a group of segments (16) is provided corresponding to that pre-determined portion. Each segment (16) of the group varies slightly in size and curvature of the main surface from one another so that by way of trying the different segments of the group a user can determine which segment (16) provides the best support when assembled into the back support pad of the invention.
