SELF MIXING FARMER BERBASIS BAHAN PANGAN LOKAL DAN LIMBAH UNTUK UKM PRODUKTIF TERNAK PUYUH

2014
This program was conducted in Watualang village, Ngawi sub-district, Ngawi regency together with Small- and Medium-Scale Enterprises of UKM Wahyu Alam Farm and UKM Rizal Farm. It used the FGD approach and was followed by 12 participants, namely: 2 partner farmers and 10 adoptive partner farmers. In addition to the transfer of knowledge on feeds and skills on how to produce it, they were also introduced to a hammer mill for animal feeds and a feed mixer. They have a better understanding on good, right, and healthy feeds and ways to produce them through the utilization of utilization of local food materials and agricultural and industrial wastes. The results of this activity in particular shows that feeding the quails with self-produced feeds can cut the feed cost up to 25% per day, which indirectly increases their profits. In addition, feeding the quails with such feeds makes them healthier and their egg productions stable. Thus, this service to community has been able to create self-mixing farmers to partners.
