The evolution towards the suicidal attempt involves emotional, cognitive and behavioral alterations in people, which are indicators of health loss. This research has a main objective to determine the risk level of suicide attempt and the type of family functioning in adolescents with these attempt antecedents in the Polyclinic II of Manzanillo. The research is a descriptive study, with the universe of 18 (81.9%) adolescents who committed suicide attempt, out of 22 (100%) in the period of 2011 and the first semester of 2012, which fulfilled the inclusion criteria. The data were obtained from a questionnaire, the Attitude Level Scale of risk for suicide attempt, and FF-SIL test, and they were processed using descriptive statistics (percentage and reason). In the results we found a prevalence of females, mostly framed in late adolescence. A reason of females and males from 8 to 1, confirming that most of the teenagers had some kind of risk for a new attempt in the middle level (27.2%) and in low level (72.2%). The (61.1%) belonged to dysfunctional families. We concluded that the reason of females and males is significantly higher for the first ones; adolescents typify the level of low and medium risk for suicidal attempt, with a prevalence of females, most of the teenagers evaluated as ¨risk to commit another attempt¨, live in disturbed families.
