Multiband swept laser source for frequency domain optical coherence tomography
2010
A multiband frequency-swept laser source is proposed using wavelength division multiplexing based on the periodic
transfer function of a scanning Fabry-Perot interferometer. The optical spectra from different wavelength bands can be
combined to create an ultra wideband light source which may significantly improve the spatial resolution of optical
coherent tomography (OCT). Parallel processing for data measured in different wavelength bands was used to speed up
signal analysis. A proof-of-concept experiment was conducted to demonstrate the feasibility of the proposed technique.
