Self‐Diffusion Measurement of Oxygen in UO2 by the Nuclear Reaction 18O(p, γ)19F

1971
The 18O(p, γ)19F nuclear reaction has been employed for measuring self‐diffusion coefficients, in sintered U16O2 at temperatures between 925° and 1425°C. This method allows the determination of concentrations in a well‐defined diffusion layer due to the resonant nature of the reaction.
