The vernier caliper comprises a main caliper, a vernier, a vernier caliper body, an outer spring, an inner spring and a sliding shaft, wherein the vernier is in sliding connection with the main caliper, the vernier caliper body is connected to the vernier, a groove is formed in one side of the vernier, a push-pull seat is arranged in the groove, scale lines are arranged at the top, the outer spring and the inner spring are respectively arranged on two sides of the push-pull seat, the sliding shaft penetrates through and is connected on the push-pull seat and in the outer spring and the inner spring in a sliding mode, and two ends of the sliding shaft are in threaded connection with two ends of the groove. A transparent groove is formed in the position corresponding to the groove, of the vernier, and a perspective window is installed in the groove and used for observing the scale lines on the push-pull seat.
