Analysis of Propulsion/Airframe Interference using CFD Technology

1994
The lecture covered the use of Computational Fluid Dynamics tools for Propulsion/Airframe interference. The basics of CFD codes used at DLR were presented. For a generic wing-body configuration with through flow nacelles, computations were carried out and validation of codes was performed by comparison with experimental results. the validation proved that the solution of the Euler and Navier-Stokes equations is a viable tool to investigate problems of propulsion/Airframe interference.
