1992
This paper deals with a new species and a new record of the genus Hypoaspis from China.Hypoaspis (Holostaspis) chelaris sp. nov. (figs. 1-5)Female Digits of chelicerae stumpy, movable digit 21 μm in length, bidentate; of the 4 pairs of gnathosomal setae the anterior pair longest, whip-like; corniculi long, slender, extending to the anterior margin of the palpgenu; tectum with smooth margin. Dorsal plate with lateral sides almost parallel, bearing 37 pairs of short, simple setae. Sternal plate with three pairs of setae and two pairs of pores, Genito-ventral plate droplet in shape, with one pair of setae. Anal plate subtriangular with round angles, postanal seta slightly longer than paranal seta. Peritreme extends beyond anterior margin of coxa I.As described above this new species is possessed of some conspicuous characters, such as the stumpy digits, the long, slender corniculi, the long and whip-like anterior hypostomatic setae, and the smooth margin of tectum, and it is quite different from all known species of the subgenus Holostaspis.Holotype ♀, collected from field soil, Beijing, May 1990; paratype 1♀, same as for holo-type. Type specimens are deposited in the Institute of Zoology, Academia Sinica.Hypoaspis (Geolaelaps) kargi Costa, 1968New record from China.2♀♀ found in Utter from Heilongjiang Province, August 1971.
