Intensiv — ein wissensbasiertes System für die Intensivstation

A program package for personal computers to be used in intensive care units will be described. The system is knowledge based with decision support character. Standard basic functions allow the administration of patients and the collection, presentation and documentation of patient data. Additional functions support the analysis of disturbances and therapy planning for patients. By combining medical and organisational functions the whole patient treatment cycle is closed. The functions are governed by the knowledge base, which can be adapted to the wide range of requirements of individual intensive care units. The architecture of the system, the knowledge base and its processing — especially in disturbance analysis and therapy planning — will be described.
