Microscopic model for the one-nucleon transfer reaction at medium energy

A multiple-scattering approach for the nucleon transfer reaction is worked out. The transfer reaction amplitude is related to the free nucleon-nucleon elastic-scattering amplitude. This approach may be extended to the multinucleon knock-on, knock-out and transfer reactions. Here it is applied to the4He(p, d)3 He reaction at 770 MeV. The theoretical cross-section is in reasonable agreement with the experimental one.
