Roots, mycorrhizal fungi and altitude as determinants of litter decomposition and soil animal communities in tropical montane rainforests

Aims This study assesses the importance of root- and mycorrhiza-derived resources for decomposition processes and as food resources for microarthropod communities along an altitudinal gradient of tropical montane rainforests in southern Ecuador.
