Multilayer ceramic sintered body and its manufacture

PURPOSE:To obtain a multilayer ceramic sintered body wherein its dimensional accuracy is high and its reliability or the like in a handling operation is excel lent and to obtain a method wherein the sintered body can be manufactured at low costs and easily. CONSTITUTION:A multilayer ceramic sintered body 1 includes sides having a shape 2 curved at least partly inward or outward. The shape can be obtained in the following manner: when a laminated ceramic molded body is heated and baked and the integral multilayer ceramic sintered body 1 is manufactured, a pressurization force or a restraining force in a range which does not sinter and contract substantially one part of the outer surface during its baking operation is exerted on the surface; at the same time, a creep amount generated in a material is controlled; the baking and contraction amount of a face (free surface) to which the pressurization force and/or the restraining force of the sintered body are not exerted is supplemented; and the final outer shape of the sintered body is controlled. Thereby, the surface dimensional accuracy of one part of the multilayer ceramic sintered body can be enhanced comparatively simply, and the handling property, especially the mechanical reliability, of the obtained sintered body can be enhanced sharply.
