GISEMENT ET RIVAGES TYRRHENIENS DE VIBO MARINA (ITALIE DU SUD) : DATATION 230TH/234U, SOULEVEMENT DIFFERENTIEL DE LA CALABRE MERIDIONALE

1991
At the Vibo Marina Tyrrhenian site, a marine deposit with Strombus bubonius lies unconformably on another. The 230 Th/ 234 U date (130 ka) obtained on Cladocora caespitosa means that the lower deposit (Vibo Marina I) is related to the isotope substage 5e. The corresponding shorelines is 52 m high and the upper deposit (Vibo Marina II) is associated with a shoreline uplifted at 37 m. The comparison with other Tyrrhenian shorelines uplifted to 105, 125 and 157 m in Southern Calabria shows that the Vibo Marina region has been less uplifted since the last Interglacial
