The Evaluation of the Objectives Achievement Degree for “Principles and Application of Single-chip Microcomputer” Course Based on OBE Model

The evaluation for achievement degree of course objectives is an important link in the whole process of undergraduate talent training, an important basis for measuring whether students meet the graduation requirements for their major, and also a key link for continuous improvement. Taking the “principles and applications of single-chip microcomputer” course as an example, this paper puts forward an evaluation method of course objectives achievement based on OBE model. Firstly, according to the characteristics of the course, the objectives of knowledge and engineering abilities involved in the course are clarified, as well as the supporting relationship of the index points for graduation requirements. Secondly, the assessment links, methods, contents and criterions are determined for each course objective, as well as their supporting relationship with each course objective. Thirdly, through the portfolio evaluation method, the achievement degree of course objectives are determined. Finally, the continuous improvement measures are proposed. The practice results show that this method can effectively find the shortcomings in the teaching process and improve the students’ abilities to solve complex engineering problems.
