Diffuse interstitial lung diseases are a heterogeneous group of entities with common clinical, radiological and functional manifestations affecting the respiratory alveolar structures, airway and pulmonary vasculature. They are classified into three groups depending Idiopathic be associated with no known cause or other well-defined entities. They are characterized by a common clinical presentation with progressive exertional dyspnea and dry cough, bilateral interstitial infiltrates on chest x-ray and functional impairment in the form of restrictive pattern with decreased CO diffusion capacity. The definitive diagnosis should be made by a multidisciplinary team of pulmonologists, radiologists, pathologists and experts to review and coordinated interdiscipinar characteristics of each case using a structured diagnostic process.
