Pulse-shape discrimination applied to the scintillating-target technique

1974
Abstract The application of pulse-shape discrimination to scintillating targets used for fast-neutron scattering is discussed. Experimental results are presented which show that useful time-of-flight spectra can be obtained from n-p scattering in a considerable γ flux, and that pulse-shape discrimination of carbon recoils against γ counts is possible in a NE 226 liquid scintillator.
