Micronutrients Enriched Organic Manures To Increase Growth, Yield and Nutrients Uptake By Sesame (Sesamum Indicum L.) in Coastal Saline Sandy Soil

2020
A field experiment was conducted in the coastal farmer’s field of Ponnanthittu village near Chidabaram in, Cuddalore district of Tamilnadu. To study the influence of micronutrients enriched organic manures to increase growth, yield and nutrients uptake by sesame in the coastal saline sandy soil. The soil (0-15 cm) had the following characteristics viz., organic carbon- 2.31 g kg-1, pH - 8.48, EC- 4.15 dS m-1, available alkaline KMnO4- 145.12 kg ha-1, Olsen P- 9.65 kg ha-1 and NH4OAC-K 165.74 kg ha-1, respectively. The various treatments included were, T1-Control (100% NPK alone), T2-125% NPK, T3-150% NPK, T4-100% NPK + ZnSO4 @ 25 kg ha-1 + MnSO4 @ 5 kg ha-1, T5- 125% NPK + ZnSO4 @ 25 kg ha-1 + MnSO4 @ 5 kg ha-1,T6-150% NPK + ZnSO4 @ 25 kg ha-1  + MnSO4 @ 5 kg ha-1, T7-100% NPK + ZnSO4 @ 25 kg ha-1 + MnSO4 @ 5 kg ha-1 + Composted coir pith (CCP) @ 12.5 t ha-1, T8-125% NPK + ZnSO4 @ 25 kg ha-1 + MnSO4 @ 5 kg ha-1 + CCP @ 12.5 t ha-1, T9- 150% NPK + ZnSO4 @ 25 kg ha-1 + MnSO4 @ 5 kg ha-1 + CCP @ 12.5 t ha-1, T10-100% NPK+ Micronutrients (Zn + Mn) Enriched composted coir pith (MNECCP) @ 5 t ha-1,  T11-125% NPK + MNECCP @ 5 t ha-1 and T12-150% NPK + MNECCP @ 5 t ha-1.
