A MRAS observer for sensorless control of wind-driven doubly fed induction generator in remote areas
2016
This study presents a sensorless control of wind-driven doubly fed induction generators (DFIG) connected to an isolated load. The direct voltage control is adopted to command the rotor side converter. A Model Reference Adaptive System (MRAS) based technique is used in this topology for the sensorless generator speed estimation. The proposed sensorless control system is robust against speed and load variations. To verify the performances of the proposed sensorless control technique under speed and load variations, Simulation studies are performed with 2 MW DFIG systems.
