Integracyjne działania edukacyjno-kulturalne Ośrodka Czytelnictwa Niepełnosprawnych

The purpose of this article is to present in more detail certain forms of the cultural and educational activity at the Reading Centre for the Impaired within the Public Library in Zamosc.  The Centre’s basic resources are audio-books and large-print publications (Large Print series).  Apart from promoting books and readership in general, the Centre provides various cultural and educational activities aimed at better integration of the impaired persons of different backgrounds, both in Zamosc and thoroughout the region.  The Centre collaborates with other institutions assisting impaired persons of various ages.  Only those forms of activities with the highest motivational level are presented. The following activities are encouraged:  meetings, quizzes, various projects sponsored by respective ministries, artistic shows, literature and art workshops  (for kids and young adults).   All those above help develop creative abilities and prevent social exclusion of the impaired.
