Background Pituicytomas (PTs) are extremely rare, low-grade glial tumors closely related to the neurohypophyseal axis. Definite conclusions concerning the optimal diagnostic and therapeutic approach to these neoplasms are lacking to date, as most of this information has been presented as case reports.
