Novel training simulator integrates disciplines

A computer training simulator was developed as a capstone course to teach employees of students the overall process of discovering and evaluating the economic worth of an oil field. The interactive course links seismic analysis, drilling, completion, logging, well testing, reservoir evaluation and economic analysis in a life-like exercise using a fictitious oil field. The paper discusses the operation of this simulator.
