The black Sigatoka, caused by Mycosphaerella fijiensis, is reported for the first time in banana trees in the Northern part of Para State. The disease had already been found in the cities of Almeirim, Port of Moz, Oriximina and Medicilandia, Western part of the sate. In Brazil, nowadays, only Goias, Rio de Janeiro, Espirito Santo, Tocantins and the States Northeast region of Brazil have not been reported to have the disease in banana tree.
