Ultraschallbefunde bei einer Ziege mit Aszites infolge Mesotheliom

Das Ziel der vorliegenden Arbeit war es, die klinischen, sonographischen und pathologisch-anatomischen Befunde bei einer Ziege mit Mesotheliose zu beschreiben. Die Ziege zeigte als Hauptbefund ein massiv dilatiertes Abdomen. Weitere abnorme Befunde waren ein gestortes All-gemeinbefinden, Abmagerung, Untertemperatur und erhohte Herzfrequenz. Die Ultraschall-untersuchung ergab eine massive Ansammlung von echoarmer Flussigkeit im gesamten Abdomen und knotige Veranderungen auf Peritoneum, Netz und Psalteroberflache. Basierend auf den sonographischen Befunden wurde die Diagnose Aszites, vermutlich infolge tumoroser Erkrankung gestellt, und die Ziege wurde euthanasiert. Die pathologisch-anatomische Untersuchung bestatigte diesen Verdacht. Die histologische Untersuchung ergab, dass es sich bei den tumorosen Veranderungen um ein Mesotheliom handelte. The most striking clinical sign was marked bilateral distension of the abdomen caused by ascites. Other signs included abnormal general condition, weight loss, hypothermia and increased heart rate. Ultrasonographic examination revealed accumulation of a massive amount of hypoechoic fluid in the abdominal cavity and nodular lesions on the peritoneum, omentum and wall of the omasum. Based on the clinical and ultrasonographic findings, a tentative diagnosis of ascites attributable to neoplasia was made, and the goat was euthanized. Postmortem examination confirmed the diagnosis, and based on the results of histological examination, a mesothelioma was diagnosed. Keywords: goat, ascites, ultrasonography, tumour, mesothelioma
