Analysis on the production and sales of Tumorous stem Mustard in Chongqing

Tumorous stem mustard is local characteristic vegetable in Chongqing, usually planted from August to December, and harvested from late November to March in the following year. It has an area of perennial maintained at more than 80 000 hm2, the output of more than 2 000 000 T. The average annual increase of area and output were 1.05% and 5.13% respectively in recent three years. Tumorous stem mustard are planted everywhere, and the largest planting area is in Fuling with annual area of 40 000 hm2 and annual output of 2 739 400 T. It almost accounted for half of the total. Chongqing tumorous stem mustard has two main selling ways: the one is sold ash fresh vegetable through wholesale market or retail market, and the other is directly purchased by the factory to be processed into finished product. The ratio of processing to fresh selling is about 2 ∶ 1. From November to January, Tumorous stem mustard usually is sold in fresh market which accounted for 68.62% of the total production. While in the high yield period from February to April, Tumorous stem mustards is sold in processing market which accounted for 76.82% of the total production.
