MCDA for the Development of Clinical Practice Guidelines and for the Prioritization Clinical Research Questions

2017
The current challenges facing clinicians today include the integration of the best available evidence into their clinical care of patients and into their prioritization of research questions still requiring answers. Multicriteria decision analysis (MCDA) is an application of decision analytics that can provide a method to clarify available evidence, prioritize these research questions, and support decision-making regarding how to address most critical research needs. In this chapter, two case studies illustrate the use of MCDA to support decision-making in clinical research.
