Cardiovascular changes in patients with primary hyperparathyroidism

Primary hyperparathyroidism(PHPT) has been associated with increased mortality,which mainly due to cardiovascular disease. Nowadays, the clinical spectrum of PHPT have changed to an asymptomatic form. However,even in the early stage,PHPT have overpresented cardiovascular abnormalities including left ventricular hypertrophy, valvular calcification, impaired vascular reaction, hypertension,impaired glucose metabolism and dislipidemia, which can be improved to certain degree after surgery.
