Installation package authorization method and device

An installation package authorization method and device. The method comprises: acquiring, by a first terminal, an installation package of a target application and an identifier of the target application which are sent by a second terminal; according to the identifier of the target application, generating, by the first terminal, an application authorization request, the application authorization request comprising indication information that the installation package does not need to be downloaded, the identifier of the target application and user identity information about the first terminal; sending, by the first terminal, the application authorization request to an application server; receiving, by the first terminal, the authorization information about target application sent by the application server, the authorization information comprising the user identity information, the user identity information being registration information about the first terminal on the application server; and updating, by the first terminal, a usage permission of the target application using the user identity information.
