Transverse quark polarization in large PT reactions and e+e− jets

The polarization of quarks which are scattered at large PT in hadronic interactions or in lepto‐production, or which are produced in e+e− annihilations at high energy can be computed in quamtum chromodynamics (QCD). The predicted polarization are small, of order αs mquark/√Q2. This leads to a prediction that asymmetries for observable particles will be small at high Q2. The prediction can be used to test QCD.
