Psykometrisk och Projektiv Teknik vid Personlighetsdiagnostik

2013
SUMMARYThe problems connected with the applicability of psychometric and projective techniques in the measurement and description of personality traits are discussed. In general, the applicability naturally depends on diagnostic aims. If the psychologist is asked to explain an existing personality problem on past behavior, psychometric techniques scarcely give any useful information. On the other hand, prediction of behavior on the basis of the variables of a certain projective test as such without psychological interpretation is of no relevance. Here routine application sometimes displays severe misconceptions.Very often when personality traits are studied with psychometric methods (e. g. with a questionnaire or with a test based on some idea of projection), there is a tendency to simplify the problem by assuming that single personality reactions are mechanically summative entities. On the other hand, in the use of projective tests no attention has been paid to individual projection tendency.Serious atte...
