Generation of microsecond pulses in a neodymium laser with controlled dynamics of lasing in a transverse section of the resonator

1989
A method was developed for generation of microsecond pulses in which the time parameters of a pulse were controlled by consecutive switching of lasing zones in a transverse section of the resonator. A neodymium glass laser was used to generate pulses of controlled profile and controlled duration (1–10 μs) with energies up to 5 J.
