DRUGGED DRIVING IN NORWAY 1986 PREVENTION AND CONTROL/REALITIES AND ASPIRATIONS. PROCEEDINGS OF THE 35TH INTERNATIONAL CONGRESS ON ALCOHOLISM AND DRUG DEPENDENCE. JULY 31ST TO AUGUST 6TH 1988, OSLO, NORWAY. VOLUME I

1989
Results of drug determinations in blood samples of subjects suspected fo driving under the influence of drugs, alone or in combination with alcohol, during 1986 are presented. The results are compared with the data in the authors recently published report for the years 1978 and 1983. Of the 12 cases with alcohol all but 2 were found to have driven a motor vehicle under the influece of a combination of alcohol and drug(s). 179 (73%) subjects were found to have been influenced by one or more drugs at the time of driving. In the remaining 53 (22%) cases it was concluded that the blood level of the drugs detected and the additional information was not sufficient to state beyond reasonable doubt that the driver was influenced by drugs at the time of driving.
