The Inventory and Recording of Historic Buildings Using Laser Scanning and Spatial Systems

2018
The use of modern land surveying methods and interpretation of the results extends the possibilities of their use and broadens the range of application. Surveying by means of laser scanning which enables gathering data in a 3D space may be of great significance in the acquisition of data. Combined with the computer modelling of objects and surfaces, it is an efficient process which can be used in the detailed inventory and spatial evaluation of the objects. The paper presents the technological process of inventorying and recording historic buildings based on railway bridges in Olsztyn. Various types of software for computer processing of spatial information in three-dimensional systems were used to interpret the results of measurements performed by means of the Laica ScanStation scanner
