Study of structural characteristics of wind-speed natural ventilation on single span greenhouse

2020
Natural ventilation used in agricultural greenhouses plays a critical role to control greenhouse microclimate. The effect of flow pattern, temperature field and ventilation scenarios on the flow rate were investigated in this study. Three scenarios of the roof openings were evaluated by using the technique of nitrous oxide as a tracer gas. The air movements, the temperature field and the efficiencies of ventilation on flow rate by inlet opening at the windward side to the outlet opening at roof leeward were numerically studied. Results show that opening configurations combined with wind speeds strongly affect inside ventilation and microclimate parameters. The efficiency of ventilation was considered by reducing the ventilation rate by the vent opening area. The CFD model used was validated by comparing experimental data and simulation analysis.
