Until now, the non-uniform distribution of the electrochemical signals on real size structures makes impossible the on-site application of quantitative electrochemical methods for corrosion rate evaluation. Four original methods for the determination of corrosion rate directly on real size structures are proposed. Two of them are based on an equivalent circuit model which permits the development of mathematical expressions for the electrical signal distribution on the metal-medium interface. The other two methods are based on instrumental designs for confining the electrical signal on a determined structural area
