Production of tertiary alkylether

PURPOSE: To decrease reduction of pressure in a catalyst bed in the production of tertiary alkylether. CONSTITUTION: When tertiary alkylether is produced from isoolefin and resin alcohol, a vertical cylindrical fractionation tower in which production of tertiary alkylether and separation of the product are carried out at one time is used. While a vapor is continuously made to flow upward, a liquid phase is made to flow downward through the catalyst bed to produce tertiary alkylether. In the method, the liquid of reaction mixture is made to flow through the catalyst bed in the crossing direction to the axial direction of the fractionation tower. COPYRIGHT: (C)1992,JPO
