The invention relates to a method for measuring equator moment inertia of a revolving body. The method comprises the following specific steps: firstly, a testing tool is fixed on a swing frame, in case of an equilibrium state, an instant driving torque is exerted on the swing frame, the swing frame and a product testing tool can be in free torsional vibration around a rotating shaft, the torsional vibration period of the state can be measured and recorded, and the torsional vibration period is called as an empty reel period; during an equilibrium state, the instant driving torque is exerted on the swing frame, so that swing frame, the product testing tool and a product can be in free torsional vibration around the rotating shaft, and the torsional vibration period of the state can be measured and recorded; through the measure values of the two periods, the rotary inertia of the revolving body around the rotating shaft of testing equipment can be calculated. The method provided by the invention can effectively measure the equator rotary inertia of the revolving body, the measuring is convenient, measurement can be performed effectively and accurately, the measuring effect is improved, and the use is convenient.
