A tellurite-based Raman fiber amplifier

The tellurite-based fiber Raman gain spectrum is obtained based on inhomogeneous Gaussian broadened model of Raman gain.A tellurite-based Raman fiber amplifier is designed by combining N-channel unidirectional steady state with stimulated Raman scattering equations.The relationship between Raman gain and transmission distance in 32-channel tellurite-based fiber DWDM system are calculated with numerical simulation.Moreover,the typical Raman gain values at different wavelengths are investigated under constant fiber length.Results show that the biggest gain of the amplifier coefficient from this amplifier is 6.01 times than that by the siliconbased optical fiber Raman amplifier under that condition of 430 mtransmission distance and 0.4nm channel spacing.
