Determination of Urine Iodine by Ion Chromatography

OBJECTIVE:To establish ion chromatography for the determination of iodine ion concentration in human urine.METHODS:Iodine ion concentration was determined using chromatography of ions,the determination was performed on Pac AS 7 column with50mmol/L nitric acid as the elutriant.The detection was by means of DC amperometer detector with Ag as working electrode and Ag/AgCl as reference electrode.RESULTS:The linear range of iodine ion concentration was 50～ 1000μg/L(r=0.9998),the average recoveries were 95.8%～97.0% with RSD at 2.6%～3.7%.The iodine ion concentra-tion in health adults was detected at 100～300μg/L.CONCLUSION:The established method is stable,accurate and fast,and suitable for the determinate of iodide in human urine.
