Laparoscopic right colectomy following an ileal orthotopic neo-bladder: video vignette.

2020
Laparoscopic right colectomy is a routine procedure performed by both general and colorectal surgeons. However, there are no reported cases of a patient undergoing a laparoscopic right colectomy who had previously undergone an ileal orthotopic neo-bladder formation (also known as a Studer pouch). Here we discuss key points to successfully and safely achieve adequate oncologic resection without compromising the neo-bladder. A 77-year-old male underwent a diagnostic colonoscopy and was found to have an endoscopically, unresectable tubulovillous adenoma over the ileocecal valve with extension into the terminal ileum.
