UČINCI POSEBOG REGULATORNOG PRISTUPA PREMA SISTEMSKI ZNAČAJNIM BANKAMA
2017
Since the weak bank regulation was one of the major causes of the crisis, the need for a new regulatory regime appears to be a major precondition for establishing a secure and stable financial system. This also results from the subject of this graduate thesis, which would be the effect of a special regulatory approach towards systemically important banks on the long-term stability of the financial system. After the analysis of the theoretical part of the problem ie. the identification of systemically important banks and the definition of the special regulatory framework, the analysis of the influence of prudential measures on the indicators of regulatory control and on the performance of systemically important banks is presented. The analysis has shown that the banks have adapted to the new regulatory approach and the applied control measures were effective, which all contributed positively to the stability and security of the local and global banking sector, thus creating the prerequisites for a sustainable growth of the entire economy.
